1961 Guild F-50B Fully Restored

This original classic maple jumbo guitar has been restored to its former glory. This guitar came to us all original, but was unplayable and in bad shape. It had loose braces that allowed the center seam to open up and included a bridge that was in pieces. It also had loose binding and a mangled heelcap.  Our luthier, Peter Meyer, repaired all the problems and recreated a bridge and heelcap to the original specifications. A little bit of spruce was patched under the bridge. The original bridge plate was fine and was left in place although it was chewed up bit around the bridge pin holes. To correct this, a small reinforcement plate was added. We dove into this project with no idea how the guitar would sound, but at the point we were able to restring the guitar it was clearly evident that our time and money had been well spent. So onward to a full refret and setup. At the top of the Guild line, the F-50 was designed to compete with the Gibson 200, and compete it did.  This guitar is amazing and has everything one looks for in a fine vintage instrument. It is now in perfect playing condition, probably better than when it left the Guild factory. It has the patina and a full sound that that can only be gained through maturity.
